A Night of Comedy: a Community Outreach Event

Cub Pack & Scout Troop 187 is proud to present another fun evening of community outreach event: A Night of Comedy

We have a great night planned for everyone—we have some great comics, featuring Sheridan Botros and Tim Davis—and more to be announced. Performances will be adapted for a family and Scout audience. Plus you will see some great skits from the Cubs.

Sheridan Botro

Based in New York City, Sheridan Botros has been performing comedy throughout the tri-state area and has performed regularly in clubs such as: Gotham Comedy Club, Stand Up New York, New York Comedy Club, Laugh Lounge and Broadway Comedy Club. She was a finalist in the Bud Lite Ladies of Laughter Competition, and was invited to perform at the Toyota Comedy Festival and The Underground Comedy Festival. Sheridan’s comedy has been described as “smart, witty and acerbic”. She grew up in Texas with an Arab father and a feminist mother… it was all downhill from there. Growing up in Texas confused the natives as to whether she was a gypsy, or just Hispanic. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, but mostly you’ll feel a warm sense of well-being that you’re not her.

Tim Davis

To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw, "If you want someone to listen to the truth, make them laugh first." Tim Davis, who has coached top comedians who have appeared on Leno, Letterman and Comedy Central, will speak on Comedy Techniques for Public Speaking.

This event will take place at IHM School, 3002 Fort Hamilton Pkwy at East 3rd Street, beginning at 7P.M. In addition to the featured entertainment in the gym, there will be a children's playspace downstairs in the cafeteria, a room for reading and quiet time, and a babysitting room for children under the age of 5. In addition, at each event there will be a merchant showcase with local retailers, service providers, artisans and crafters and a raffle with prizes donated by local merchants. Refreshments will also be available.

Proceeds from these events will support rebuilding the IHM School Kitchen and the fast-growing, newly formed Cub and Boy Scouting program.
